We are hiring! – Mandarin-speaking Business Manager

We are currently looking for an outstanding full-time business manager who is bilingual (English/Mandarin) to join us in our London office.

We are the UK’s leading provider of interpreting service between English and Mandarin, with the largest in-house Chinese interpreter team in the UK. Our clients range from government organisations, world-leading universities, to big multinational firms around the world and in Europe in particular.

 

Job Title: Business Manager

Location: London

Reports to: Managing Director

Hours of work: 9:00-17:00, Monday to Friday

Availability: Immediate start

Probationary Period: 3 months

Starting Salary Range: £28,000 per annum

Your responsibilities

  • Managing the interpreting/translation services of the company from dealing with enquiries, negotiating fees/costs, scheduling and supervising delivery of service to invoicing, seeking feedback and dealing with issues raised by clients
  • Financial and administrative management from raising invoices, securing payment, monthly reports of the operation of the company, record keeping, data protection and other shared duties of office management
  • Working closely with external suppliers to ensure cost-effective delivery of our services
  • Any such matters as directed by the Company from time to time

 

You must:

  • Be entitled to work full time in the UK
  • Be fluent in both Mandarin and English
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Have at least 3 years full-time experience in an office managerial or administrative role
  • Possess commercial acumen
  • Be able to manage simultaneously multiple projects with different deadlines
  • Possess strong forward-planning and time management skills
  • Be meticulous with attention to detail
  • Be able to work under pressure
  • Have a great business sense and the ability to work to budgets

 

Priority will be given to candidates already in a similar role from the translation/interpreting industry.

 

 

Desirable traits

  • Experience working as an administrator or project manager in a client-facing role
  • Have basic understanding towards translation/interpreting industry
  • Cross-cultural experience is preferred
