KL Interpreters employs a team of first class full-time staff. We don’t subcontract to interpreting agencies. Instead each KL Interpreter undergoes an intensive selection process and the most rigorous training in the industry. Our interpreters are regularly performance-tested and thoroughly prepared before every assignment. The logo lapel pin they wear is our guarantee to you that you’ve hired the best.
Dr Kevin Lin OBE
Kevin is the Lead Interpreter of the FCO. Since the mid-1990s, he’s worked for five Prime Ministers and at all top level talks/visits between the UK and China. Other governments that have benefited include Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Spain and Denmark. Kevin has worked for generations of chairpersons and CEOs of leading companies and academic institutions of the UK. He was awarded OBE in 2011 for service to UK-China relations. His textbooks on interpreting are must-read in China, where he is considered an international authority.
Danni Chen, BA, MA, EU Diploma
Senior Staff Interpreter
Danni obtained her MA degree together with EU accreditation in Beijing. After freelancing for a year in China, she applied to KL to take her career to a new level. Danni is Lead Interpreter of the team. Her repertoire covers the full range of UK-China relationship. Testimonials –

Jasmine holds an MSc in Development Linguistics from the University of Edinburgh. She has brought to KL significant expertise in linguistics and is our expert in Taiwan version of Mandarin Chinese. Rea Li, BA, MA
Rea heads up our translation service. In addition to managing our delivery to government bodies, education institutions and commercial companies, she also oversees development of our technical capabilities from software tools and glossary banks to supplier quality control. Rea joined KL after receiving her master degree in Translation and Interpreting from the University of Surrey and after beating competition from other candidates from our annual Post-MA Professional Training programme. Prior to Surrey, she had worked as a private tutor of English before securing an internship at one of the largest crane manufacturers in the world.
